In order to further promote the professional certification of engineering education, deepen the "student-centered, output-oriented and continuously improving" engineering education concept among instructors of geology majors, build a graduation design competition platform for undergraduates majored in geology, boost the continuous development of engineering education of geology majors in China, and effectively improve the education quality of geology engineering, promote the development of and improve the quality of geologic engineering education, the Geological Society of China (GSC) launched the nationwide competition of excellent undergraduate graduation designs of geologic engineering.
The GSC has received 59 designs in total recommended by colleges and universities across China. According to the (Trial) Method of Geological Society of China for Selection of Excellent Undergraduate Graduation Design of Geologic Engineering, 17 of the entries were awarded excellent undergraduate graduation designs after form examination, preliminary evaluation and final evaluation. Four designs recommended by the College of Construction Engineering of our university were awarded excellent undergraduate graduation designs, tied for the first with the number of awarded designs.
The geologic engineering of the College of Construction Engineering, Jilin University passed China Engineering Education Accreditation in 2017 and 2020 respectively, and was chosen to join the national first-class undergraduate major initiative in 2019 as one of the first batch of participants.
