National Civil Engineering Forum for Graduate Students - NCEF 2021 & NEU International Postgraduate Summer School - Smart Civil Engineering （phase IV） was held in Northeastern University from July 18-19, 2021. Professor Zhang Wen, Deputy Dean of College of Construction Engineering, attended the forum with a total of 17 postgraduates. The National Civil Engineering Forum for Graduate Students is hosted by the Department of Degree Management and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Education and the Education Working Committee of China Civil Engineering Society, aiming to strengthen the learning and communication among China’s postgraduates in various majors of civil engineering discipline and to provide a stage for postgraduates to show their spirit and talent. The theme of this forum is "Key Technologies For Major National Infrastructure Construction And Urban Renewal Action". Apart from promoting mutual understanding and communication among postgraduates in civil engineering disciplines, the attendees discussed the future development of civil engineering disciplines in aspects of personnel training, discipline building and ideological and political education, etc.

Professor Zhang Wen gave a keynote lecture on "Innovative Ideas and Suggestions for the Intersection and Integration of Researches on Ultra-high Steep Slopes along Sichuan-Tibet Railway" as a specially invited guest speaker.

After that, PhD and MSc students from the College of Construction Engineering made academic reports in their respective sessions based on their own research.

There was also an award giving ceremony for excellent papers. Guo Jiahuan, Lu Xinyu and Bai Zilong, the postgraduates of our college won the excellent paper awards of NCEF 2021.
