The youth does not disappoint your dream , strive forever like when you are young. At 14:00 on 20th June, 2022, the 2022 Cloud Graduation Ceremony of College of Construction Engineering of Jilin University was held. Yi Changtao, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Construction Engineering, Guo Wei, Executive President, Wang Boxin, Cao Pinlu, Zhang Wen and Wu Xinming, Vice Presidents, Wang Qing, Director of the Academic Committee, Chen Baoyi, Director of the Teaching Committee, Hou Chuanbin, Deputy Director of the Oil Shale Industry-University-Research-Use Cooperation and Innovation Base, Talalay, Director of the Polar Center, department chairs and teachers’ representatives attended the offline ceremony, and other teachers of the College, all graduates of the class of 2022 and students’ parents attended online. Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of the College Yan Guodong hosted the meeting.
The national anthem with solemn and serious sound opened the graduation ceremony of 2022 College of Construction Engineering. During the ceremony, Executive President Guo Wei announced the list of 2022 undergraduates and bachelor degree recipients. Vice President Wang Boxin announced the list of 2022 master graduates, doctoral graduates and degree recipients. Yi Changtao, secretary of the Party Committee, declared the decision to commend the outstanding graduate students, outstanding undergraduates and outstanding graduation thesis of the class of 2022, and wished that the students could hold on to the school motto of "seeking truth and innovation, motivating to be strong" in the future, taking an open vision, broad horizon, facing the world, facing the future and developing innovation. Facing life and challenges with a tough will and a mature mind. With modest style and tolerant attitude, adapting to the society and perfecting oneself.
Afterwards, Zhu Zidi, a representative of the 2022 graduates, delivered a speech with the poem “Farewell” as the main line, expressing his gratitude for the four years of training of the college, his emotion for the four years of care of his teachers and classmates, his reluctance to leave his four years of youth and his expectation for the future. As a youth of the new age, we were going to embark on the future, and we were going to show our ambitions all over the motherland. We would stride forward for the sake of ourselves, our families, our country and this great age. Bearing in mind the motto of our mother school, “Be practical and innovative, be ambitious and strong”, and carrying the hopes and dreams of our own ego, we should shoulder the responsibility and mission of our country, and keep exploring science and running into the future. Finally, Zhu Zidi offered his sincere wishes to the alma mater, teachers and students.
Chen Yating, a representative of graduate students, recalled the nine years she spent at Jilin University. She said that the classroom of geologists is in the books, but also in the vast earth. On the shore of Qinghu Lake, beside the Water Engineering Building, outside the Xingcheng Internship and Jinyue Bridge, the teachers’ rigorous attitude, pragmatic work style, and open and selfless personality have subconsciously enhanced the students’ thinking and life style. Even though there are thousands of reluctance, in this summer, the mature dandelion seeds will leave the arms of the alma mater and go to the most needed place of the motherland to take root and grow. In the future, no matter where we go and what kind of position we are engaged in, we will not forget the original intention of “construction changes life, engineering changes the world”, and we will go up and down to seek for the future.
On behalf of the faculty, Zhao Yan sent his sincere wishes to the graduates of the class of 2022. He said that although the epidemic has separated everyone in all directions of the country, the campus of JLU is still full of students’ youthful imprints. In JLU, students have not only made great progress in their studies, but also left a strong mark in the historical picture of the development of the college. We are glad for the growth and progress of the students along the way with the college, and we are proud of the students who will go to the society and take up the noble society responsibility. He also sent a message to the students to set off with professionalism and dedication, to devote themselves to the great career of serving the country with science and technology, to set off with trust and responsibility, to embark on the journey of scientific and technological innovation, to set off with boldness and tenacity, and to open a new chapter of life. We will take up the mission of “A great responsibility will come down from heaven”, and in the name of the Construction and Engineering people of JLU, we will strive to be the first and go forward! Guo Wei, the Executive President of the college, sent a sincere wish to the graduates that they should “live up to their prime, seek truth and perseverance, and strive for progress sincerely”. To seek the truth, we must seize the time and persevere. On the road of truth-seeking, be pragmatic and firm in your beliefs; establish your sentiments, adhere to the truth, keep pace with the times, and guide the great practice with the light of thought. Aspire to be ambitious, build up strength to start, to achieve the value of life, leading social development. Be resolute, try your best to persevere, and be unhurried. The world is in an unprecedented change, the country is at the intersection of two centuries, a generation of people have a generation of mission to bear, this is the test given to you by the times, is a mandatory course in your life, to carry a tough character when the sky is dark or stormy road, keep the light inside. Trekking through the mountains without changing one’s mind, the mountains are high and the road is far but see the scenery is infinite. Be sincere, keep moving forward and persevere. Refine character, down-to-earth, more accumulation of small gains, and good at drawing moral nutrients from the excellent Chinese traditional culture, the revolutionary culture of the Communist Party of China, advanced culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics, from the heroic people and the model of the times to feel the moral style, from their own introspection to enhance moral cultivation, through the little things to spread and promote moral ethics. To strive for progress, in the great time more own efforts.
