In the afternoon of September 22nd, the College of Construction Engineering held a symposium for young and middle-aged teachers in 2022 in the conference room of 325 Water Engineering Building. Party Secretary Yi Changtao, President Guo Wei, Vice President Zhang Wen, Cao Pinlu and young and middle-aged teachers of the college attended this meeting together.
Vice President Cao Pinlu firstly introduced the faculty construction of the college, focusing on the analysis of faculty professional structure, age structure, academic structure, title structure and talent echelon. Through horizontal and vertical data comparison, it clearly showed the advantages and challenges faced by the faculty construction of the college.
Then, President Guo Wei introduced in detail the background significance and working mechanism of the “Implementation Plan for Training Young and Middle-aged Teachers in College of Construction Engineering”. President Guo Wei said that young and middle-aged teachers are an important part of the faculty of the college and an important force for the development of the college. The college will continue to build a more open, diversified and high-level communication and development platform for young teachers by establishing a “Growth File” for young teachers, linking leaders with talents, forming scientific research and teaching teams, organizing academic salons, business training and famous lecture forums, and other institutional construction. President Guo Wei encouraged all of them to have high aspirations, always keep the valuable spirit of pursuing excellence, carefully consider their academic growth and future development goals, focus on the world's academic frontiers and national critical demands, closely integrate their personal development with the development of the country, the university and the college, and strive to grow into excellent teachers who can be of great value and capable of taking up important responsibilities, so as to promote the internal high-quality development of the university and the college.
In the exchange session, all the young teachers spoke and talked about their gains and feelings since their work in a cordial and cheerful atmosphere. Combined with the Implementation Plan for Training Young and Middle-aged Teachers in the College of Construction Engineering, extensive discussions were held on team building, talent training, discipline construction and development. The leaders listened carefully to the speeches of the young teachers and made timely responses and explanations to the questions and suggestions on the spot, which aroused enthusiastic reactions.
Finally, Secretary Yi Changtao summarized from three aspects. First, the college will make efforts to continuously improve the office conditions for cultivating people, on the basis of the existing foundation, combined with the cultural characteristics of the college, to create a more clean, comfortable, harmonious, healthy and upward office environment for teachers and students, and further improve the college's environmental construction to a new level. Second, multiple measures are taken to provide a strong guarantee for the growth of young teachers, give career incentives to young and middle-aged teachers in many aspects, further revitalize existing resources, and effectively promote the Implementation Plan for Training Young and Middle-aged Teachers in the College of Construction Engineering to achieve effective results. Thirdly, teachers are called upon to make good use of the “microscope” in the process of talent training, to understand each student extensively, comprehensively and deeply, to establish the concept of cultivating people by combining value guidance, ability cultivation and knowledge transfer, and to realize a positive interaction between teachers and students. In addition, make good use of the “telescope” in research work, and take the initiative to understand the frontier achievements in science and technology in a timely manner.
