From April 12 to 15, 2021, Prof. Wang Qing, Prof. Chen Jianping, Prof. Zhang Wen and Prof. Wang Boxin were invited to attend the 13th National Engineering Geology Forum held in Linzhi, Tibet with the theme of “Safe Construction and Operation of Sichuan-Tibet Railway Thanks to Science and Technology”. The forum was hosted by Geological Society of China, organized by the Engineering Geology Committee of Chinese Geological Society and Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chengdu Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment (Ministry of Water Resources of the People’ Republic of China), and co-organized by Tibet University. Academician Peng Jianbing, Academician Cui Peng and more than one hundred renowned experts in the field of engineering geology from research institutes across China and heads of railroad survey, design and construction organizations were invited to attend this forum.

The conference was held in the context of comprehensively implementing the directive of General Secretary Xi Jinping on "construction of Sichuan-Tibet Railway". The representatives of our College delivered speeches on science & technology supporting the construction and operation safety of Sichuan-Tibet Railway, the problems in discipline development and personnel cultivation, and carried out extensive academic exchanges with other attendees. The constructive opinions put forward by our representatives will definitely play an important role in promoting the construction of Sichuan-Tibet Railway and the future development of engineering geology, and make contributions in building a beautiful China and a livable globe.
