On February 25th, 2023, College of Construction Engineering of Jilin University successfully held a conference to review the design plan of the National Key Research and Development Program project “Multi-process core drilling mechanism and method for ice and rock interface and bedrock under ice” with quick-disassembly multi-functional aluminum alloy double-walled drill pipe. Academician Sun Youhong, President of China University of Geosciences (Beijing), Professor Liu Sanyi of China Geological Survey, Professor Jiang Guosheng of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), Professor Liu Baolin of China University of Geosciences (Beijing), Professor Zhang Wei of China Geological Survey, Professor Liu Yuejin of China Geological Equipment Group Corporation, and Professor Zhu Jianglong of China Geosciences Institute of Science and Technology (Beijing) Limited attended the meeting and reviewed the subject design plan as review experts.

At the opening ceremony of the meeting, academician Sun Youhong, as the chairman of the evaluation expert group, introduced the frontier technology and challenges faced by China’s polar research in detail, and Professor Liu Sanyi, the expert responsible for the project, put forward further requirements on the subject research. Professor Bai Wenxiang, Associate Professor of Scientific Research Institute of Jilin University attended the meeting and delivered a speech, Professor Guo Wei, President of College of Construction Engineering attended the meeting, Professor Peng Li of Wuxi Drilling Tools Factory of China Groundwear participated in the meeting as the project partner, and Professor Yang Gansheng, the project manager and other members of the project team attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Professor Zhang Wen, Vice President of College of Construction Engineering.

Professor Wang Rusheng from College of Construction Engineering, the subject manager, introduced the research background and research content of the subject to the experts and briefly introduced the research progress of the subject. Professor Liu Baochang, the subject leader, presented a detailed report on the design of the quick-disassembly multifunctional aluminum alloy double-walled drill pipe. The expert group considered the design of quick-release multi-functional aluminum alloy double-walled drill pipe proposed by the group reasonable and feasible, besides, further optimization suggestions were also put forward through listening to the report, reviewing relevant information, questioning and discussion. Finally, the expert group unanimously agreed that the design plan passed the evaluation. The meeting requested the members of the group to further optimize the design plan according to the experts' suggestions, so as to bring into application value as early as possible and make contributions to the polar research in China.
