After many fierce games and hard work, Jiangong FC, the soccer team of the College of Construction Engineering successfully advanced to the final. On May 14, 2019, the final match of the Faculty Cup Soccer Game kicked off at the central football field, with Jiangong FC and the Clinical Medical College Team fighting for the championship.
With a whistle, the match started. In the 4th minute, Li Zhihao attacked the midfield from the left side and shot at the goal; in the 5th minute, Li Zhihao took a free kick in front of the left side of the arc, which was parried by the goalkeeper; in the 9th minute, Zhang Qian lifted a direct shot from the midfield, which was slightly off the goal, and then Han Yang hit a direct shot from 3 yards outside the arc, which was parried by the goalkeeper; in the 11th minute, Xu Yongxin received a long pass from the backfield and was brought down when dribbling and obtained a free kick, which Zhang Qian took from the midfield and shot over the crossbar. Then Xu Yongxin met Li Qingyi’s free kick from the deep half, while the dead chick flew over the crossbar. In the 13th minute, Guo Quan blocked a great shot. In the 14th minute, Zhang Qian hit a free kick from the midfield, which was parried by the opponent's goalkeeper, who saved another weak one by Li Zhihao from the left soon afterwards. In the 16th minute, the free kick of Li Qingyi from the halfway line was cleared by the fullback. In the 30th minute, Li Qingyi attacked with a free kick from left front, then Qi Hao headed out. In the 33rd minute, Zhang Qian took a free kick from the centre of the field and the opposite defender almost made a mistake. In the 35th minute, Li Qingyi assisted Xu Yongxin on the left side of the field and Xu Yongxin turned around and took a shot, but it was off the left post. In the 40th minute, Li Zhihao met the long pass from Wu Lemou at the arc top and passed to Xu Yongxin, then to Han Yang, the latter took a push shot at the goal. At the end of the first half, Jiangong FC took a temporary lead of 1:0.
The second half began. In the 43rd minute, the opponent's striker down the right side shot off the goal, very threatening; in the 54th minute, the opponent's long pass from the midfield found the striker, Dou Jiaxin acted decisively and valiantly to parry the ball; in the 58th minute, with Han Yang's corner kick from the right side, Li Zhihao headed home 2:0 to stretch the advantage; in the 60th minute, Guo Quan brought down the opponent's striker on the right side outside the penalty area, the opposite side got a free kick in front of the field, then, our defender showed the back of the net and the striker headed home to make it 2-1. In the 64th minute, Xu Yongxin took a one-touch shot down the right side of the field, but the opponent's defender blocked his body and the attack was parried; in the 66th minute, Han Yang's free kick from the center was parried by the opponent's goalkeeper; in the 72nd minute, the opponent got a free kick from the top of the arc, but it was too high; in the 75th minute, Zhang Qian gave a free kick at the back of the field and Li Zhihao got the ball and passed it to Han Yang. Han Yang cut inside and scored into the right-hand corner 3:1. In the 80th minute, Xu Yongxin got a corner kick, which was headed high by Han Yang and cleared by the opponent's defender. Then Li Zhihao was stumbled on the right side of the penalty area and obtained a front-field free kick, while shot wide. The opposite goalkeeper launched a fast counterattack, and the opposite forwards supported while cleared by our players. In the 85th minute, the game was coming to an end and the spectators in the stands could not help but hold their breath and pay attention to what was happening on the field of play; in the 90th minute, the crisp whistle rang through the stadium and the score was finally settled, with Jiangong FC winning the championship with 3:1.
The game was the first champion title won by Jiangong FC and a hard-earned honour for the College of Construction Engineering. This victory could not be achieved without the hard training and tenacity of the team members, the careful guidance of the teachers and coaches, and the cheering and support of the students and teachers of the college. It is believed that after this competition, the College of Construction Engineering will be more united and write a more splendid chapter in the future life, showcasing the power of the College of Construction Engineering.
