Recently, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the National Postdoctoral Management Committee jointly issued the Notice on Approving the Establishment of 510 Postdoctoral Research Stations of Philosophy of Northeast Normal University and Other Postdoctoral Research Stations (Letter of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security [2023] No. 108). Our college was approved to establish a new postdoctoral research station for the first-level discipline of Civil Engineering. So far, since the postdoctoral research station of Geological Resources and Geological Engineering, the total number of postdoctoral research stations in College of Construction Engineering, Jilin University has reached two.

Civil Engineering at Jilin University was developed based on the engineering geology major founded in 1952. The first batch of master's degree students of geotechnical engineering was recruited in 1998, which was approved by the Ministry of Education as the authorized point for master's degree and doctoral degree in the first-level discipline of civil engineering in 2010 and 2017, and it is an advantageous and characteristic discipline in Jilin Province (Class A). The Civil Engineering discipline of Jilin University has now formed a complete personnel training system of Bachelor's-Master's-Doctoral-Postdoctoral, which has cultivated a large number of high-quality professionals for the economic and social development of China, especially for the revitalization of the Northeast region. It is the only doctoral degree authorization point of the first-level discipline of Civil Engineering and the first-level discipline of the post-doctoral scientific research station in Jilin Province.

The approval of the civil engineering first-class discipline postdoctoral research station further enhances the scientific research strength of the civil engineering discipline of Jilin University, will absorb more excellent civil engineering doctoral degrees to Jilin University to continue to engage in scientific research work, and comprehensively enhance the attractiveness of the civil engineering discipline of Jilin University to the young talents, and provide a strong reserve of talents for the civil engineering discipline of Jilin University to achieve the leapfrog development, and for the comprehensive revitalization and all-round rejuvenation of Jilin Province. This will provide a strong talent pool for the civil engineering discipline of Jilin University to achieve leapfrog development and cultivate more high-quality research talents for the comprehensive revitalization and all-round rejuvenation of Jilin Province.
