To fully implement the Ministry of Education's requirements regarding the review and evaluation of undergraduate education and to prepare for the upcoming on-site evaluation, the College of Construction Engineering convened a meeting on September 27, 2024, in Conference Room 325 of the Hydraulic Engineering Building on the Chaoyang Campus. The meeting was attended by the college's leadership team, the chair and members of the Teaching Committee, and all faculty and staff. The meeting was presided over by Vice Dean Wu Xinming.

At the meeting, Vice Dean Bo Kun acknowledged the work of the college's review and evaluation working group and all faculty members thus far. He provided a detailed interpretation of the tasks and requirements outlined in the "Plan for Preparing for the Review and Evaluation of Undergraduate Education Teaching at Jilin University" and presented the college's work plan for the undergraduate education teaching review and evaluation. He clarified the work tasks and responsibilities for each phase and urged all faculty and students to thoroughly study the "Handbook of Essential Knowledge for Undergraduate Education Teaching Review and Evaluation" to ensure the smooth progress of the evaluation preparation. Each teaching department, experimental center, and research office should conduct self-inspections to standardize teaching order and ensure effective classroom teaching. All departments must organize foundational materials related to undergraduate education, such as training programs, course syllabi, teaching plans, and graduation theses, and be prepared to receive evaluation and assessment at any time, implementing the necessary preparations thoroughly. Lastly, he emphasized that this review and evaluation work should serve as an opportunity to enhance the quality of undergraduate education and teaching within the college.

Following this, Dean Guo Wei proposed three requirements for the evaluation preparation work. First, improve awareness and place great importance on this task; all units in the college should fully understand the significance of the review and evaluation, enhance their awareness, strengthen the construction and evaluation mindset, and firmly establish a consensus on nurturing talent. Second, focus on key areas and ensure implementation; further, identify any gaps, solidify responsibilities, and meticulously prepare all evaluation materials to meet quality and quantity requirements. Third, strengthen confidence and foster close collaboration; firmly establish the concept of “working as one unit” throughout the college and prioritize the review and evaluation work.

The convening of this meeting reinforced the college's significant emphasis on the review and evaluation of undergraduate education and teaching, clarifying the direction for future undergraduate education efforts. All faculty and staff will take this as an opportunity to unite and enthusiastically prepare for the evaluation, creating a positive atmosphere where everyone pays attention to undergraduate education and participates in the evaluation process. They will support each other, closely collaborate, and meticulously prepare for the evaluation, completing the “last mile” of the evaluation preparation.
