On June 17, 2021, the College of Construction Engineering of Jilin University (the college) and the First Company of China Eighth Engineering Bureau Ltd. (the company) held an industry-university-research-application cooperation exchange meeting at Meeting Room 319, Shuigong Building on Chaoyang Campus. The delegation of the company consists of Nie Li-Director of Human Resources, Huo Wentao-Secretary of Party Committee and GM of Jinan Branch, Hou Changchang-Manager of Human Resources Department of Jinan Branch and Hu Bingchen-Senior Manager of Human Resources. Representatives of the college include Yi Changtao-Secretary of Party Committee, Guo Wei-Executive Dean, Wang Boxin-Deputy Dean, Cao Pinlu-Deputy Dean, Yan Guodong-Vice Secretary of Party Committee and Wu Xinming-Deputy Dean. The meeting was hosted by Cao Pinlu.
Firstly, on behalf of the college, Secretary Yi Changtao expressed welcome for the arrival of Director Nie Li and her delegation. He said that the company had been focusing on the research and innovation of building technology and green construction management, and had maintained a rapid and sound development in recent years, enjoying a good society and industrial reputation. The College of Construction Engineering of Jilin University, as a “double first-class” discipline construction college for "Geological Resources and Geological Engineering", has strong comprehensive discipline advantages, rich academic resources, and high-quality personnel cultivation. He hoped that both parties would make full use of the university-enterprise cooperation platform, give full play to their respective advantages, provide an excellent environment for the growth of students, and strive to achieve win-win cooperation and common development.
Director Nie Li expressed her gratitude to the College for the warm reception. She highly praised the scientific research and cultivation achievements of Jilin University and the College of Construction Engineering. She introduced that the company attached great importance to talent training and had initiated the program called “Born of Fire” to set up a multi-level, multi-channel and full coverage "841" talent training system. The students from Jilin University impress people with multifaceted capabilities, solid knowledge foundation, and being hard-working and down-to-earth. The company is looking forward to continuous and in-depth cooperation and exchange with the college, promoting the transformation of scientific research achievements and collaborative innovation, and jointly creating a soft environment conducive to the full play of talents and the release of innovative power.
After that, Executive Dean Guo Wei introduced college history, discipline development, faculty, talent training and scientific research, focusing on the major achievements and advantageous scientific research. Deputy Dean Cao Pinlu introduced the basic situation of foreign exchange. GM Huo Wentao introduced their company, the profile of Jinan Branch, and their human cultivation, and recalled his learning experience in Jilin University, and expressed the willingness to strengthen bilateral cooperation in scientific research and talent cultivation.
During the meeting, both parties further exchanged views on cooperation mode, student employment and talent growth environment, and reached a preliminary consensus. Finally, the two parties signed the Memorandum of University-Enterprise Cooperation Internship Base.
