On January 20th, 2022, the 2021 Academic Committee Meeting and Annual Academic Meeting of Key Laboratory of Drilling Technology for Complex Conditions of the Ministry of Natural Resources was successfully held, which was held through a combination of offline and online ways. The opening ceremony of the conference was hosted by academician Sun Youhong, director of the laboratory, who welcomed all academicians and experts and scholars attending the conference and expressed his gratitude for the care, support and assistance given to the construction and development of the laboratory for a long time. Researcher Zhang Huixu, Professor Guo Qing and Professor Guo Wei delivered speeches on behalf of the Key Laboratory Office of Ministry of Natural Resources, Research Academy of Jilin University and College of Construction Engineering of Jilin University, respectively.
The Academic Committee meeting was chaired by Academician Su Yinao. On behalf of the Lab, Prof. Guo Wei made a report to the Academic Committee on the work of 2021, reporting the completion of the tasks of the Lab in 2021, the overall work progress, the representative achievements and the work plan for 2022. The Academic Committee and the participating experts highly appreciated the progress made by the lab in the construction of the talent team, high-level scientific research outcomes and the transformation of patent outcomes, and also made suggestions on the direction, goals and tasks of the next work of the lab, and considered and passed the adjustment of the names of some research directions of the lab. The five research directions of the laboratory also reported the main work progress in 2021 through academic reports.
The Key Laboratory of Drilling Technology for Complex Conditions of the Ministry of Natural Resources is responsible by Jilin University, which was approved for construction in 2012, passed the acceptance in 2015 and was awarded as one of the top ten excellent key laboratories of the Ministry of Natural Resources in 2017. The laboratory closely focuses on national major demands such as deep earth exploration, polar climate and environment, and unconventional energy resources exploitation, and carries out research on deep drilling technology and equipment, polar scientific drilling technology, unconventional energy and mineral drilling technology, bionic drilling theory and technology, multi-process impact rotary drilling technology and other complex conditions such as high-temperature and high-pressure underground conditions, low-temperature and low-pressure surface conditions, and low-grade resource development. The laboratory will continue to follow the major demands of the country, give full play to its own advantages and characteristics, solve major technical problems and frontier scientific problems in the field of resources and environment, work on the construction of talent team, high-level scientific research results, training of senior talents and transformation of technical results, and contribute to the double first-class discipline of Geology Resource and Geological Engineering of Jilin University.
