On November 16th, College of Construction Engineering of Jilin University invited ZHU Beibei, Deputy Director from Jilin University Office of Global Engagement, to hold a special lecture entitled "Become a JLUers with the World in Mind and Run with Determination" for the undergraduate students of Grade 2022 and 2023 in the Li Siguang Building of the Central Campus, and 215 undergraduate students participated in the lecture. The lecture was hosted by Professor CAO Pinlu, Vice Dean of College of Construction Engineering.
During the lecture, ZHU Beibei introduced in detail the current international and domestic situation, pointed out opportunities for undergraduates to study abroad, explained various international cooperation and exchange projects and excellent cases of the university, and gave targeted guidance to freshmen and sophomore undergraduates based on their academic planning and life planning, encouraging them to build up a good foundation of their majors and foreign languages as early as possible, to improve their international dialogue ability and international competitiveness, and to actively participate in global cooperation and competition. Finally, Zhu Beibei took the 4 important qualities and 6 key abilities of student development as the starting point, encouraging students to think of the world, be practical, integrate their personal development into the historical journey of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and run the best performance on the track of youth.
After the lecture, CAO Pinlu explained the college’s policy support of the relevant programs and hoped that students would carry out academic planning early in their study journey, make full use of the resources of the school and the college, and explore the life path suitable for themselves.
The question-and-answer session was very enthusiastic. Students felt deeply and said that through this seminar, they had a deeper understanding of the school's various overseas exchange programs, understood how to plan their academic routes with the spirit of exploration, and knew the importance of expanding their global vision, building a firm professional foundation and cultivating their comprehensive abilities.
The college attaches great importance to and actively encourages students to participate in study abroad training programs, and will actively hold thematic lectures and use them as a carrier to closely communicate with students, continuously develop students' vision, cultivate students' concept of the big picture and sense of enterprise, and continuously improve the quality of talent cultivation in the college.
