The Department of road and bridge engineering was founded in 2000 and now has 10 faculty members, including 3 professors, 2 associate professors, 3 lecturers and 2 engineers. There are three laboratories for road building materials, bridge monitoring and bridge structure testing. The department undertake undergraduate courses such as bridge engineering, structural design principle, subgrade and pavement engineering, foundation engineering and road survey and design, and undertake the teaching tasks of postgraduate courses such as bridge earthquake resistance, advanced bridge design theory, asphalt and asphalt mixture, pavement mechanics, etc.
The department has undertaken a number of national, provincial and ministerial research topics and achieved important research results in bridge construction monitoring, corrosion resistance of bridge cable structure, evaluation of bearing capacity of existing bridges, optimization of road structure and materials in cold regions, durability of concrete structures in cold regions, etc.
